Our chapter has over 800 members in the San Diego area. Our purpose is to be the force behind the force in our local community.

We support the people and the missions of the local Air Force units in San Diego. We also support retired Air Force members locally providing a valuable link to the Air Force and its global mission.

Our members are a positive force in the community supporting local schools and students. We meet the last Tuesday of every month, usually at Filippi's Pizza.

Our meetings are open to all members and prospective members. We hope you can become involved with your local Air Force Association Chapter.

General Atomics Tour and Meeting Change for November

There will not be a normal AFA Chapter 118 General Membership Meeting (GMM) in November. We didn’t want a repeat of the September bar competition. Instead we are going to be taking a tour. It has been several years since we have had one.

Chris Seat and the Aircraft Systems Group of General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GASSI) will host us for a tour on Saturday, November 15th. The tour will take place at their facilities in Poway, CA. Click here for directions to the facility.

We will begin the morning with refreshments (coffee and donuts) at 9:00 am. During this time we will have a short meeting. We will begin the tour at approximately 9:30, and it will end between 10:30 and 11:00. We will provide information on which gate to use during the week before the tour.

All Chapter members are invited. However, there are 3 security conditions. All people going on the tour must be US citizens and need to bring a picture ID. Also, GAASI requires 2 week notifications for all tour members. Therefore, you need to send us an email to sandiegoafa@gmail.com no later than Friday, October 31st. Please provide your full name as it appears on the piece of ID you will be using. Until we know how many are planning on coming, this invitation is limited to Chapter members only.

If you have questions, please send us an email. Hope to see you on November 15th.
