CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program. There are three main programs within CyberPatriot: the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, AFA CyberCamps and the Elementary School Cyber Education Initiative. CyberPatriot was conceived by the Air Force Association (AFA) to inspire high school students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. Our chapter has over 800 members in the San Diego area. Our purpose is to be the force behind the force in our local community.
We support the people and the missions of the local Air Force units in San Diego. We also support retired Air Force members locally providing a valuable link to the Air Force and its global mission.
Our members are a positive force in the community supporting local schools and students. We meet the last Thursday of every month, usually at Filippi's Pizza.
Our meetings are open to all members and prospective members. We hope you can become involved with your local Air Force Association Chapter.

AFA Chapter 118 held its 13th Annual AFA & AFROTC Aztec “Shoot-Out” Scholarship Golf Tournament on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Twin Oaks Golf Course in San Marcos, CA. This year's field included 80 golfers and multiple sponsors of cash donations as well as prizes. Key donors included Northrup Grumman, General Atomics, Piper Plastics, Setpoint Systems and Critchfield Mechanical. In addition to the golf, there were on course activities such as a putting contest, the "Hot Shot" golf cannon, the Dixon Par 3 Challenge, two Closest to the Pin contests, and both Men's and Women's Longest Drives. Once again, the weather cooperated beautifully and the feedback from the players was that all had a great time. This year's winning foursome was a group from Rancho Bernardo Inn Men’s Golf Club led by Chapter 118 supporter, Jerry Canning.
The proceeds from the golf tournament support education and scholarship programs at local schools and Air Force units, including the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) at San Diego State University, as well as Junior AFROTC at local high schools and Civil Air Patrol squadrons. While the 2016 profit is still being finalized, last year the Aztec Shoot-Out raised over $13,000 for these activities. We look forward to continue the tradition and are already considering dates and venues for 2017.
